By September 2006, Chris had graduated from his master's program and was well established in his new job at the Treasury Department. The previous two years were very busy and did not allow for much personal time so he thought it was time to do something he wanted to do for a long time, go boating in a vessel that is large enough for him to take his family. Chris and Peggy decided to do some boat shopping. They found a nice boat and were considering buying it but decided to go to an arts festival before thinking about it more. At the arts festival there was a booth for the Carefree Boat Club. The boat club offered anyone who was a member to take any of their 40 boats in the Washington area or any of an unlimited number of boats on the Eastern Seaboard for an annual fee. Chris and Peggy thought this was a better idea than buying a boat because they wouldn't have to worry about maintenance and could get some free training. A month later, Chris, Peggy, and A.J. were out on the water. This page includes pictures from their adventures ever since.
