In June 2001, Peggy and I decided to celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary in New York City, NY. Despite having traveled from Japan to Italy and everywhere in between, I had never been to this city that is only a three hour train ride from my home. It was representing a real gap in my travel resume so we decided it was time to go.
So we can say we did it, we stayed at the Waldorf-Astoria and contemplated whether or not we should buy the $12.00 peanut butter and jelly sandwich from room service. Having decided that that wasn't a good use of our money, we spent the next day seeing the Statue of Liberty followed by the Empire State Building. That evening we went to a show by the Blue Man Group (those guys you see in the Pentium commercials). The next day, we had to head back home but not before taking a walk around central park. As always, below are some pictures of our experience in the Big Apple.

| Note (September 25, 2001): This page was origianlly created June 29, 2001. The following pictures of the World Trade Center were taken in mid-June 2001, three months before the attacks of September 11. The personal note I can give of that day was not only was I horrified by the disaster at the World Trade Center but also by the attack that occured three miles from me at the Pentagon and the crash that occured in my hometown of Somerset, PA. For the last two weeks, I debated what to do with this page and decided I should keep these pictures up as they are for the same reason why I created the Three Little Angels section. Never deny anything that gave you happiness. So, the pictures will remain in the spirit they were intended. | |
