After 13 years of marriage, Peggy took Chris to Taiwan to see if her extended family would approve of him. Fortunately, things went very well and Chris was allowed to stay in the family. This assessment period began on March 8, 2008, when Chris, Peggy, and A.J. boarded a plane for Taiwan and ended March 26, 2008, when the intrepid travelers climbed into a taxi that finally took them home. The pages shown below display pictures of what happened in between.

Day 2 - Taipei: On Day 2, Chris, Peggy, and A.J. rested after their long flight and began exploring the area around Taipei. After a large breakfast at the hotel, the family went to the house of Peggy's eldest paternal aunt, Di-Huei "Happy" Kang, for some tea and light snacks. Afterward, they received a tour of National Taiwan University's Physical Education Department, which is run by Peggy's uncle Sic-Ping Kang, and had a huge lunch. They then went to the area northeast of the city and did a little shopping in the "Old Street" marketplace. After that, the family crashed as they still tried to overcome their jet lag.

Day 3 - Heading South: After a couple days, we all began heading south to visit the Hu ancestral home in Tainan. On our way there, we visited a Hakka village and a woodcarving museum then spent the night at Sun Moon Lake. Here are some pictures from that day of travel.
